Learn to communicate

My goal is to help you to have the best possible relationship with your dog, using reward driven, force-free training methods based on the latest advances in canine behaviour science. Your dog always has a valid reason for acting the way that they do; my job is to work with you to understand their needs, analyse the emotion driving that behaviour, and help you to work together to prevent or improve unwanted behaviours. The result is a confident, happy dog who can understand what its owners are asking of it - and happy owners who can understand and communicate with their dog!

How can I help ?

I have a wealth of experience dealing with all sorts of issues, from basic training to more complex behavioural problems. Whatever your dog’s age, breed, and history, we can work together to understand their motivations and teach them how we want them to behave. Contact me for help with:

  • Leash skills

  • Reactivity

  • Resource guarding

  • Separation anxiety

  • Recall

  • Social skills

  • Puppy training

And everything in between!

I offer both 1:1 and group training sessions - please check out my 'group training' page for details on available classes, or get in touch to discuss suitability.

What does a 1:1

session involve?

1:1 training sessions are ideal for providing tailored advice for training and behaviour problems. For many issues, it's best for me to come to your home, to see your dog's behaviour in their own environment. For other issues, it may make sense for us to meet in a public area such as a local park.

Initial consultations are 90 minutes to 2 hours in length, giving us a chance to delve into the history of your dog and their behaviour and look at possible underlying causes. We will then work on a range of skills for both the dog and the handler, providing short term management of the problem and working on longer term behaviour changes.

Shorter sessions of 60 minutes are also available. These sessions are ideal for following up after an initial consultation, or may also be suitable for more minor training issues that don't require a longer in-depth consultation.

I offer 1-2-1 training sessions both in person and online. I can work with you and your dog outdoors in a mutually convenient location, or I can come to your home - mileage charges apply outwith the Falkirk area.

Please get in touch in writing in the first instance - I cannot always answer phone calls if I am with other clients. You can contact me via email, text message, Facebook messenger, or the contact form on this website. Please include some basic information including your name, your dog’s name and breed, and a brief explanation of the issues you wish to work on. I aim to respond to enquiries within 1 working day.

Initial consultations last for 90 minutes to 2 hours and cost £90. Shorter sessions of 60 minutes are also available. I have a range of packages available to suit different needs - please check out my Pricing & Packages page for more information.

Group Classes

Group Class 1

Group classes are ideal for working on basic life skills and general good behaviour in a controlled setting with other like-minded dog handlers.

I offer group classes for dogs of all ages and abilities, including:

  • puppy classes

  • adolescent and adult Life Skills classes

  • 'Good Citizen' classes

  • Walk & Train classes

  • clinics, workshops, and masterclasses

Please check out my 'Group Training Classes' page for full details on the range of classes available.

Not all dogs are suited to group training - some thrive better in a 1:1 environment, where we can provide our full attention and give focused and specific advice. If you're unsure whether group classes will meet your needs, please get in touch to discuss.
